About wellbeing Crete

A holistic approach for growth

Wellbeing Crete is a specialist service providing developmental coaching for individuals, groups and managers, plus developing what I can only think of as healing holidays, all of which have long term benefits for your mind and body. Here at Wellbeing it is recognised that the convenience of mobile technology has a negative side.  My own experiences in my professional life can only be thought about as being in a state of on-call 24/7 has lead me to start this service which requires you to turn off your phone and give time for your own development.

All our work, though based on your needs, will address your mental and physical wellbeing as it is necessary to be as well as possible in mind and body as one impacts the other.

Dr. Lydia E Beckler MSc

Prior to moving to Crete I worked as a senior manager for many years in services for young people. As a manager I always felt responsible for and ensured that I develop the staff I supervised, directly or indirectly.   I studied at the Tavistock Clinic for many years completing both an MSc and a Professional Doctorate in Social Work. My years of practice, studies and training in psychoanalytical theory and psychosocial practice has enabled me to develop my work, bringing in to the current life situation those aspects of one’s past which impact one’s ability to achieve our full potential.

Moving to Crete meant finding work which was available to me at that time and I was thrown into managing holiday villas.  Initially I was responsible for dealing with bookings and meeting the holiday makers, however, this grew to managing everything related to the villas. After some years and on completing my Professional Doctorate I got the idea of bring my previously gained knowledge and skill set together with my newly acquired knowledge. In addition to the coaching services I am working with property owners to create a specialist holiday service.  I will be bringing together a group of qualified and experienced practitioners to develop a group of holiday packages that will give you a set of skills and knowledge that can bring about positive changes for your long-term mental and physical health.  Holidays provide short-term relief but we know that what is needed are long-term changes which enable us to continue to deliver professionally and gives us and our families a quality of life that keeps us happy, safe and healthy.

Professional Standards

We believe that we must operate within a set of standards which puts the clients needs, and not necessarily wants, at the forefront of all our work.  Anyone working with Wellbeing Crete to deliver a service will be well qualified to do so.

thoughtful programmes

When creating specific programmes we will address the needs as stated by yourselves but will also want the option to develop this as we get to see how the planned work develops. Although our  programmes are planned we  aim to be flexible by always being thoughtful and take into consideration the development needs of those with whom we work.

not just for today

The work you will do, because we facilitate and lead but you do the hard work, will have short, medium and long term benefits. It will at times be challenging, emotionally, definitely, and possibly physically. This is because change is at times painful but the outcomes should make for happier and more satisfying work and life  experiences.
